House 557 is a coastal residence in Wilderness just outside George South Africa. The home above the dunes directly above the beach utilises double height glazing to frame the view from the entrance hall.

Spatial Framework and Views
A central staircase and gallery organise circulation and bring daylight to the core. Large sliding openings extend dining and lounge areas to the deck while maintaining protection from coastal winds.
Material and Detailing
The palette combines timber decking, framed glazing and finely plastered walls to manage weather and salt exposure. Balustrades and screens are kept minimal to preserve views while coordinating with the structural rhythm.
