House 2847 is a family residence in George South Africa. The plan aligns living spaces to the garden water edge with large openings that connect to a sheltered terrace and courtyard. Curved thatch forms and arched glazing are retained and balanced with clear internal organisation.

House 2847 is a family residence in George South Africa. The plan aligns living spaces to the garden water edge with large openings that connect to a sheltered terrace and courtyard. Curved thatch forms and arched glazing are retained and balanced with clear internal organisation.
Spatial Framework and Landscape
A double volume living room with a gallery links kitchen dining and lounge to the exterior. Sliding doors open to the terrace where a fireplace and seating extend daily use and frame views to the mountains and water. Rooms are arranged to maintain visual connections across the plan while allowing privacy to bedrooms and study.
Material and Detailing
The roof thatch plastered walls timber joinery and stone elements are coordinated to establish consistency from entrance court to pool terrace. Interior finishes are calm and durable with built in cabinetry and banquette seating in the kitchen.
