Workplace and Visitor Flow

A clear entry leads into a double volume reception that opens to a timber courtyard. From here visitors and staff move directly to the boardroom wing or the administrative suite, limiting overlap between public and back of house functions. The boardroom is arranged around a central table with consistent sightlines to presentation surfaces, while exposed timber trusses and acoustic treatment support comfortable meetings. Sliding doors connect interior spaces to covered walkways, allowing functions to expand outside during suitable weather and improving natural ventilation across the plan.

Material and Environmental Strategy

Materials were selected for resilience and familiarity to the park setting. Brick paving and timber elements define exterior courts and walkways, while robust internal floors and joinery support high footfall areas. Deep overhangs, pergolas and generous glazing balance daylight with shading to reduce glare in work areas. The project demonstrates practical solutions and aligns with the service offering described under architectural services for commercial projects at the practice’s site: https://fcholm.co.za/architecture-industries/commercial-architecture/
