Architectural Form & Materials
Two monumental, angled board-formed reinforced concrete fins define the in and out bound lanes, with a compact brick control kiosk set between them, reading like rock outcrops that flank the roadway. A cantilevered canopy spans the lanes; its soffit reveals an expressed timber truss below corrugated metal sheeting for durability in the coastal forest climate. The palette and board-marked concrete with timber structure were chosen to echo Tsitsikamma’s forest and cliff textures.
Delivery, Scope & Capability
Commissioned by SANParks, the entrance gate formed part of a broader public-realm upgrade in the Eastern Cape. FC Holm delivered a coordinated scope; architecture, landscape architecture, interiors, and professional project/construction management. This is consistent with our multidisciplinary model and six-stage delivery process from inception to conclusion. This project evidences our capability as a commercial architect and project manager to steward complex public-sector works from concept to handover.
